GREAT OLYMPIC HILL IN GARMISCH
Symbiosis between architecture and technical finesse
The new ski jump in Garmisch convinces immediately with its unique architecture, which shapes the landscape already today. But what lies behind the façade that transports the ski jumpers to the top? The answer: sophisticated technology. Due to the special construction, the system placed a number of challenges on the planners. Working closely together with the Felka-Hoffmann GmbH engineering office, NEW LIFT Steuerungsbau GmbH developed the following custom solutions:

Speed | 1.6 m/s |
Acceleration | 0.8 m/s² |
Delay | 0.5 m/s² |
Lift max. capacity | 1,120 kg (14 persons) |
Drive machine | Sassi MF94 / 270196A 20.6kW |
Drive control | Ziehl-Abegg ZETADYN 2CF046S4 with DCP control |
Positioning | Incremental positioning via drive machine |
POWER SUPPLY OF THE CAR
Car supply via heatable conductor line.
CONNECTION BETWEEN CAR & MACHINE ROOM CONTROL SYSTEM
Proven connection concept using radio link.
SHAFT POSITIONING
Incremental positioning; impulses come directly from the encoder of the drive motor. Position correction is performed using the classic method via contactless correction switches that are located at an appropriate distance in the valley and mountain station.
DRIVE CONTROL
To facilitate diagnostics and, if necessary, parameter adjustment on the drive control via remote monitoring, a frequency inverter with DCP control was used.
CAR & SHAFT DOORS
Use of multi-channel safety switches with mutual monitoring that are distributed on the station control, car control and machine room control and communicate with one another both via cables as well as wirelessly.
WINTER CONTROL
For the realisation of this winter control with de-icing drive function, the proven CUS technology (CUStom specific control) was used: » Automatic control of the heating for conductor lines, the shaft door thresholds, de-icing fluid and spray nozzles » Manual or automatic de-icing drive (selectable time intervals: 15 min – 2 h). » Monitoring of the de-icing fluid level
